US country singer Mindy McCready has withdrawn a guilty plea in a probation violation case stemming from a drink-driving arrest in May 2005.
McCready was acquitted of driving under the influence but was found guilty of driving under a suspended licence.
According to her lawyer, however, a document found by relatives in Florida shows the licence was reinstated the day before she was arrested.
Lee Dryer told Associated Press he would be asking for a new trial.
The singer received a three-year probation term in 2004 after she pleaded guilty to fraudulently obtaining drugs from a pharmacy.
The May 2005 incident was one of two parole violations that led to an arrest warrant being issued for the singer in August last year.
The singer was subsequently arrested and held for 10 days before being released on bail.
At a court appearance the following month, the singer revealed she had attempted to commit suicide after finding out she was pregnant.
