Jeff Buckley 'biopic to be made'
A film is to be made of the life of the late singer-songwriter Jeff Buckley, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

The musician's mother Mary Guibert will produce the film after becoming afraid that a biopic would be made without her involvement, the report said.

The movie is to be written and directed by Brian Jun, whose Steel City showed at this year's Sundance Film Festival.

Buckley released one album, Grace, to great acclaim before he drowned while swimming in 1997. He was 30.

Finding Neverland executive producer Michelle Sy will co-produce the film, the Hollywood Reporter said.

Guibert told the publication the "time was right to have a project where integrity could be built into the script and that we could wrangle it so that it didn't get co-opted or changed in getting to the screen".
