Actress Gwyneth Paltrow and Coldplay singer Chris Martin have had their second child, a boy named Moses Martin.
He was born at the weekend in New York and is a healthy baby, said Paltrow's spokesman, who refused to say whether the birth was a caesarean section.
After the couple's daughter Apple was born, the actress said she did not understand the fuss about the name.
Moses is a song on Coldplay's Live 2003 album, said to have been written by Martin for his Oscar-winning wife.
In June 2003 he reportedly told fans in Denver, Colorado, it was about the actress and it was the song he most enjoyed performing.
It contains the lyrics: "Like Moses has power over sea so you've got power over me."
The song continues: "You're a refuge, somewhere I can go. You're air that, air that I can breathe, 'cause you're my golden opportunity."
Paltrow, 33, who won an Oscar for her role in Shakespeare in Love, said it was Martin, 29, who came up with the name Apple.
