Morrissey will host the shows and appear in sketches
Men Behaving Badly star Neil Morrissey is to host a series of comedy shows made for viewing on mobile phones.

The show forms part of a joint venture between his Tangent production company and digital TV company etv.

Screaming Talent will create original entertainment content for mobile and new TV platforms with an emphasis on comedy, music and animation.

Former 10cc member Kevin Godley has also been signed up to develop drama content and a mobile music show.

"The current commissioning process has left many artists frustrated," said etv CEO Mark Cullen.

"But the increasing maturity of mobile and web platforms allow us a quick and easy way to get their work seen by audiences."

According to an etv spokeswoman, Screaming Talent is in talks with a "major platform operator" and plans to launch in the autumn.

Morrissey is currently appearing in London's West End in the musical Guys and Dolls.
