Fawlty Towers stars Prunella Scales and Andrew Sachs are reuniting for a drama based on a short story by Evelyn Waugh.
The Fawlty Towers cast last filmed together in 1979
The pair are working on an adaptation of Mr Loveday's Little Outing, which sees Sachs' character incarcerated in a lunatic asylum.
Set for broadcast in May, it will be part of a season of shows dedicated to the Waugh family on BBC Four.
The final Fawlty Towers, starring Scales as harassed wife Sybil and Sachs as waiter Manuel was filmed in 1979.
In Mr Loveday's Little Outing, which was first published in the 1930s, Sachs plays the eponymous patient while Scales plays the wife of another inmate, Lord Moping.
Sachs said: "It is fantastic to be working with Prunella once again, and be part of such a great cast.
"As a huge fan of Evelyn Waugh, it's a great thrill for me to be part of this project.
Evelyn Waugh died in 1966
"The director has done such a wonderful job adapting the play, using only the words Evelyn Waugh wrote."
Sachs added: "We hope to honour Evelyn's memory, and I am sure, if he were around today, he would approve of the work we are doing."
An other programme being screened as part of the Waugh season is the documentary Fathers and Sons: The Waugh Line, presented by Evelyn Waugh's grandson Alexander.
