O'Brien meets Finnish 'lookalike'
Conan O'Brien meets President Tarja Halonen
O'Brien proved he was an old romantic with a Valentine's Day gift
US chat show host Conan O'Brien has met the Finnish president he endorsed last year in a mock campaign because he said she looked like him.

O'Brien handed Tarja Halonen a Valentine's gift when the pair met at Helsinki's presidential palace.

President Halonen won her second six-year term last month.

2,000 fans gathered in the city to see O'Brien, who will receive a Finnish award for most surprising and entertaining TV personality on Tuesday.

The meeting with Finland's first female president was scheduled to last 15 minutes although O'Brien joked that he wanted a six-hour audience.

O'Brien has appeared on several Finnish television shows during his visit and also visited Lapland in the north of the country.

The offbeat comic will take over the popular Tonight Show in the US in 2009, currently hosted by Jay Leno.
