Eminem snubs retirement rumours
Eminem says he is taking a break to produce other artists
Rap star Eminem has scotched rumours he is about to retire from music, saying he is merely taking a break to produce other artists.

The rapper was reportedly planning to retire after a show at Slane Castle in Ireland in September.

But he told MTV News: "When I say I'm taking a break, I'm taking a break from my music to go in the studio and produce my other artists."

He said recent album Encore was not going to be his last.

'Nothing is definite'

"When I know my next move, I'll tell everyone my next move. Not some reporter who writes a story about 'This is Eminem's last album'," he said.

"I never said Encore was my last album. I never said anything yet. I don't know what I'm doing yet. Nothing is definite, you know what I'm saying? Nothing is written in stone."

The rap star, who has released four studio albums including last year's Encore, did admit to MTV News that he would one day retire from recording and touring.

"I know that I'm not gonna be rapping forever, I know that much," he said. "As long as I feel like I got the energy in me to do it, and the spirit, and I can do it, I'm gonna do it."

He also rubbished retirement rumours during a show at the HP Pavilion in San Jose, California on Tuesday.

His current Anger Management world tour ends with a headline slot at Slane Castle in County Meath in September. The rapper is currently on the road in the US with the tour.

Last week 11 people were injured after a tour bus carrying members of Eminem's entourage crashed on a motorway in Missouri.
