Pleased overall with the nominations, lots of first-timers in there, which is always exciting, and I am pleased of course by the Brit mini-invasion, go girls!

I'm pleased that Jake Gyllenhaal has not been left out, his performance is every bit as compelling as Heath Ledger's in Brokeback Mountain. I was worried he was going to be this year's Paul Giamatti - who missed out for Sideways.
I'm pleased that Crash has been recognised too.
I am however very disappointed that The Constant Gardener missed out on a nomination for best director and/or best picture, and no nod for Ralph Fiennes either.
What can I say about George Clooney, his three nominations really are a major achievement, could he pull off a treble?
Could he become a member of that oh so exclusive club of actors-turned-directors, joining the likes of Clint Eastwood, Woody Allen, Robert Redford, Kevin Costner and Warren Beatty. I would love to see it, but I don't think its going to happen.
It's going to be a very exciting night!
