Oscars panel: Amanda Hepburn

I thought the nominations showed quite a good cross section of movies and a few British nominees.

Let's hope Brokeback Mountain does not sweep the board and we get some surprises from the chosen winners.

Amanda Hepburn
Name: Amanda Hepburn
Lives: Jarrow, Tyne and Wear, UK
Occupation: IT officer
Favourite all-time film: Chocolat (it always makes me smile)

I feel there were a few glaring omissions from the nominations.

What about Eric Bana for Munich (best actor), Zhang Ziyi for Memoirs of a Geisha (best actress), Peter Jackson for King Kong (best director) and The Constant Gardener (best motion picture)?

Nice to see Nick Park's Wallace & Gromit are still Academy favourites. Can he make it Oscar number four?

The difference in release dates between the USA and UK means we are yet to see some of the contenders. Syriana, Walk the Line and North Country will be released in the UK over the next few weeks.
