Nick Carter, a singer in US pop group The Backstreet Boys, has been fined $1,200 (£664) after admitting to drink-driving in California.
The 25-year-old singer was also put on probation for three years, ordered to attend an alcohol education course and banned from driving for 90 days.
Carter's spokesman said he was on prescribed medication when he was arrested on 5 March.
In April he pleaded not guilty to the charges, but later changed his plea.
String of hits
Orange County deputy district attorney Tate McCallister said Carter's lawyer entered a standard first-time guilty plea on the singer's behalf last week.
Carter's blood alcohol level had been above the legal limit when he was arrested in Huntington Beach.
The singer said he had been unaware of the "interaction possibilities" of his medication and alcohol.
The Backstreet Boys had a string of hits including Quit Playing Games (With My Heart), Everybody (Backstreet's Back) and All I Have to Give.
They are set to begin a US tour on 22 July in Florida.
