Thousands of fans saw Garth Brooks propose to Trisha Yearwood
US country music star Garth Brooks got down on one knee to propose to fellow singer Trisha Yearwood in front of 7,000 fans at a ceremony in California.
Yearwood - who met multi-million selling Brooks as his backing vocalist 15 years ago - said yes.
Brooks, 43, popped the question after a statue of him was unveiled at the Legends in Bronze event in Bakersfield, California, on Wednesday.
The pair were among the biggest country stars in the US in the 1990s.
Brooks is credited with taking country to a mass, mainstream audience at the start of the decade, while Yearwood was named female vocalist of the year at the Country Music Awards in 1997 and 1998.
Brooks has been married once before and Yearwood, 40, has had two previous marriages.
Other musicians honoured with bronze statues at the ceremony included Willie Nelson, Hank Williams, Johnny Cash and Elvis Presley.
