Former child actor Brad Renfro has been charged with attempting to possess heroin after being arrested in a Los Angeles police operation.
The 23-year-old is free on $10,000 bail and is scheduled to appear in court on Friday. He was arrested in an operation in the city's Skid Row district.
Mr Renfro's first film role was at the age of 12 in The Client, starring Susan Sarandon and Tommy Lee Jones.
His spokespeople were unavailable to comment on the case.
Mr Renfro's other credits include Tom and Huck, Ghost World, Bully and The Jacket.
Police said 14 other people were also arrested in the operation, targeting an area notorious for its drug dealing.
