A new writing award has been created in Ronnie Barker's honour
A series of well-known oil paintings have been reproduced featuring top TV personalities to mark the 16th annual British Comedy Awards.

The X Factor judges, Ricky Gervais and the late Ronnie Barker are among those captured on canvas for the awards, which take place on 14 December.

Barker becomes Caravaggio's Fortune Teller, while Gervais features in Jacopo Palma's Mars, Venus And Cupid.

Jonathan Ross will host the awards which honour the best in UK comedy.
