Potter film to get Imax release
Daniel Radcliffe as Harry Potter
Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire is released on 18 November
The next Harry Potter movie will be released at larger-screen Imax cinemas on the same day as standard cinemas.

Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, the fourth film in the series based upon JK Rowling's books, is released in the UK and US on 18 November.

Imax cinemas screened movies such as Spider-Man 2 and previous Harry Potter movie, the Prisoner of Azkaban, after their conventional cinema release.

There are currently 240 Imax cinemas operating in 35 countries.

Blockbusters converted

Imax has made numerous deals with Hollywood studios in recent years to convert blockbuster films to its own larger-screen format, including the forthcoming Batman Begins.

The company, based in Mississauga, Ontario, services and leases out its cinema systems which have screens up to eight storeys high.

In March US Imax cinemas in Texas, Georgia and the Carolinas chose not to show a film referring to the theory of evolution after fearing it may have offended certain religious cinemagoers.

The sixth Harry Potter book, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, will be published on 16 July.
