Director Lucas takes TV show role
George Lucas
Star Wars creator George Lucas is to guest star in a forthcoming episode of hit teen drama The OC.

The 60-year-old director will appear as himself in the Fox show, to express an interest in a graphic novel created by leading character Seth Cohen.

Cohen, played by Adam Brody, is an avid Star Wars fan who frequently has the good fortune of meeting his heroes.

Earlier this season, the trailer for the new Star Wars film, Revenge of the Sith, premiered during the show.

Fox network recently announced that The OC would return for a third season following significant success in the ratings both in the US and the UK.

Episode III: Revenge of the Sith, the final Star Wars film in the prequel trilogy, will be released in cinemas worldwide from 19 May.
