Madrid hosts Don Quixote reading

President Chavez has urged everyone to read Don Quixote
Hundreds of Spaniards have taken part in a non-stop 'readathon' of Miguel de Cervantes' classic novel Don Quixote.

The 48-hour annual event was held at Madrid's Circulo de Bellas Artes, one of the city's primary arts venues.

This year the reading relay was held to celebrate the 400th anniversary of the 1,000-page book, which was first published in 1605.

Spanish Prime Minister Jose Luis Rodriguez Zapatero joined fellow fans to read a few lines of the book.
