Lourdes Maria and her superstar mother joined the likes of Sylvester Stallone, director Spike Lee and actresses Minnie Driver, Natasha Richardson and Juliette Lewis at the Manhattan Roseland Ballroom event. The Versus show by Donatella Versace, sister of murdered fashion designer Gianni, was as flamboyant as ever.
On display were low-slung skirts, low-cut hipster trousers cut just below the knee, very short shorts and plenty of midriff. Almost 100 designers will show their spring lines in New York this week - the event will then move on to London, Milan and Paris. Among the European highlights this week are Victor Alfaro, London's Alexander McQueen and Vivienne Westwood, who debuted in New York earlier this year. British designer Nicole Farhi will show her spring line on Wednesday to tie in with the opening of her first store in New York. ![]() |
