The shortlisted artworks of the four Turner Prize nominees are going on the road for the first time in the competition's history.

A mini-tour of UK train stations will give travellers the chance to comment on the works vying for the big prize.

Commuters will be able to write their thoughts on the work - good or bad - on a giant wall.

The Judge for Yourself tour begins at London Victoria on Tuesday, before going to Manchester and Edinburgh.

Painter Gillian Carnegie is the favourite to win the Turner Prize for her still life studies.

Because fellow shortlisted artists Darren Almond, Jim Lambie and Simon Starling all produce large installations the station exhibition will just give a flavour of their work.

The exhibition, sponsored by Gordon's, will be launched by Culture Minister David Lammy, Stephen Deuchar from the Tate and broadcaster and journalist Janet Street-Porter.

It will remain at London Victoria until going to Manchester Piccadilly between 15-19 November and Edinburgh Waverley between 22-26 November.

The Turner Prize winner will be announced on 5 December.
