Ex-Led Zeppelin frontman Robert Plant will kick off a week-long charity concert series on Monday that will also see Franz Ferdinand and Keane perform.

The Teenage Cancer Trust concerts at the Royal Albert Hall in London will raise money for dedicated hospital wards for young cancer sufferers.

Franz Ferdinand will perform on Tuesday night, with support from the Kaiser Chiefs and Graham Coxon.

Peter Kay will take to the stage on Wednesday for a night of comedy.

That will be followed by Keane on Thursday and the charity's patron Roger Daltrey with Eric Clapton and UB40 on Friday.

Daltrey was recently made a CBE for services to entertainment and charity. He has helped the Teenage Cancer Trust raise more than 2m through the annual series of concerts.

Robert Plant will be joined on Monday by Mercury-prize nominated rock band The Bees for a Night of Gibson Guitars.

Concerts in previous years have seen the likes of Paul Weller, Oasis, Stereophonics and Coldplay perform.
