Ulrika splits from her Mr Right

TV host Ulrika Jonsson has separated from her second husband Lance Gerrard-Wright, whom she met while presenting reality TV show Mr Right.

Mr Gerrard-Wright was a contestant on the ITV1 dating show in 2002, which set out to find him the perfect girlfriend.

He married Jonsson, 38, in August 2003 on an island in her native Sweden.

"We tried our best to make our marriage work, but we are now resigned to the fact that we should part," the couple said in a joint statement.

The couple have a daughter, Martha, born in 2004. Jonsson has two children, Cameron and Bo, from previous relationships.

A regular columnist in the News of the World, Jonsson told the newspaper: "It's a very sad situation - not least for our children.

"They are our first concern. Lance and I will do everything to ensure their happiness."

Jonsson's private life has often dominated tabloid headlines, including revelations about her affair with England football manager Sven-Goran Eriksson in 2002.

The former breakfast TV weather girl was previously married to cameraman John Turnbull, and had a romance with footballer Stan Collymore.

Her daughter Bo was born with a heart defect which required several operations. Bo's father, German businessman Marcus Kempen, walked out on Jonsson just six days after the birth.
