Street star leaves Fame Academy
Debra Stephenson
Debra Stephenson joined Coronation Street last year
Coronation Street actress Debra Stephenson has left BBC One's Comic Relief Does Fame Academy after being voted out by fellow contestants.

Stephenson, who plays Frankie Baldwin in the soap, got the chop as Top of the Pops presenter Reggie Yates was saved.

There are now just four celebrities left - Yates, comic Adrian Edmondson, EastEnders actress Kim Medcalf and radio presenter Edith Bowman.

The final will be held as part of Red Nose Day on Friday.

Stephenson, 32, got her first showbusiness break winning Opportunity Knocks at the age of 15.

That led to appearances at the Edinburgh Festival and the Comedy Store as a stand-up comedienne.

She starred in jail drama Bad Girls as hellraising prisoner Shell Dockley, for which she was nominated for two National Television Awards, before joining Coronation Street in 2004.
