Batman TV mansion escapes blaze
Adam West and Burt Ward as Batman and Robin
The mansion has been used in films including Dead Again
The Tudor-style mansion used in the 1960s TV series Batman escaped being destroyed by fire, following early reports the house had been gutted.

But a house nearby in Pasadena, Los Angeles, that had been used in movie shoots was destroyed.

US TV footage showed flames leaping into the sky at the home with up to 70 firefighters working to control it.

The fire department initially said it was the house made famous as Batman alter-ego Bruce Wayne's home.

But it later revealed the fire had started at a neighbouring house, which had been used in the Rocky V film and Peter Sellers' Being There.

The owners of that house were not at home at the time of the blaze and what caused it is unknown.
