A man was shot in the leg on Monday in the lobby of a New York radio station while controversial rapper 50 Cent was making an on-air appearance.
According to Newsday, the 24-year-old man - who was not identified - was a member of the star's entourage.
The newspaper claims that the shooting occurred shortly after the rapper said he was dropping his protege The Game from his hip-hop clique G-Unit.
50 Cent was at WQHT-FM to promote the release of his new album The Massacre.
Officials said the injured man was taken to St Vincent's Hospital in New York, where he was reported to be in a stable condition.
No arrests have been made. 50 Cent - real name Curtis Jackson - was not hurt in the incident.
No comment has been made by the rapper or his label, Interscope Records.
Rapper The Game - real name Jayceon Taylor - entered at No 1 on the Billboard album charts in January with his debut album Documentary.
