Former Friends actor David Schwimmer is to make his debut on the West End stage in May in the new production from acclaimed playwright Neil LaBute.
Schwimmer set up a theatre company after leaving university
Schwimmer, who found fame as Ross in the hit US sitcom, will play an emotionally crippled womaniser in Some Girls at the Gielgud Theatre.
"I've always dreamed of doing a play in London," he said.
Kevin Spacey, Kim Cattrall, Holly Hunter and Joshua Jackson are among the US stars currently in West End shows.
Schwimmer, 38, helped set up a theatre company, Lookingglass Theater, on graduating from university in 1988.
As well as Friends, he has been seen in films including Six Days Seven Nights and The Pallbearer. He has also directed episodes of Friends and TV spin-off Joey.
Neil LaBute is known for his complex relationship dramas on stage and screen. He has directed films including In the Company of Men, The Shape of Things and Nurse Betty.
