Ant and Dec and The X-Factor helped ITV1 record its best Saturday night audience share for more than 18 months.
Ant and Dec's Gameshow Marathon drew 43.5% of the audience
Ant and Dec's Gameshow Marathon drew 7.1 million viewers and The X-Factor drew 9.4 million, representing 46.3% of the total viewing audience.
Meanwhile He's Having a Baby and What Kids Really Think drew 1.4 million and 1.6 million viewers to BBC One.
It was a boost to ITV, which axed Celebrity Wrestling in May after it was beaten by BBC One's Doctor Who.
On Saturday almost three times as many viewers saw The X Factor as did A Question of Sport - though Casualty restored BBC One's lead with 7.5 million viewers at 2015 BST.
ITV1 was back in the ascendant 45 minutes later with It'll Be Alright on the Night's 50 Years of ITV.
ITV1's total audience share was the channel's highest Saturday night total since December 2003.
Boosted by a strong lead-in from Ant and Dec's programme, the reality talent show gained a higher proportion of viewers than the final of its first series managed in December 2004.
The commercial channel is currently celebrating its 50th anniversary.
