Ant and Dec in TV golf show talks
Ant and Dec
Celebrity hosts Ant and Dec recently renewed their contract with ITV
TV presenters Ant and Dec are in talks to host a celebrity golf tournament for ITV later this year, with a number of major stars tipped to take part.

Celebrity Cup, a star-studded version of the Ryder Cup, would feature teams from Europe and the US.

Actor Hugh Grant, singer Robbie Williams and England football captain David Beckham are among those rumoured to be involved with the show.

However, an ITV spokeswoman stressed no contracts had been signed.

She added that the show, which would be held at the Celtic Manor course in south Wales, was still under discussion but all those involved were keen for it to go ahead.

Other names rumoured to have been approached to take part include Hollywood actors Kevin Costner and Samuel L Jackson, singer Ronan Keating, former Wimbledon champion Boris Becker and model Jodie Kidd.

Hollywood couple Catherine Zeta Jones and Michael Douglas are also tipped to take part, playing for opposing teams.

Golfers Colin Montgomerie and Mark O'Meara have both agreed to appear should the show go ahead. Montgomerie would be the non-playing captain of the European team while O'Meara would serve the same post on the US team.

Production companies TWI and Gallowgate, Ant and Dec's production company, are currently in negotiations with ITV over the show.
