Big Brother contestant Eugene Sully is the new favourite to win the Channel 4 reality show when it ends on Friday.

Eugene, 27, a former BBC engineer, has overtaken Anthony Hutton as favourite to scoop the 100,000 prize.

Eugene is now 4/6 to win with bookmakers Ladbrokes. "Bookies have underestimated the cult following of the loveable geek," a spokesman said.

Craig Coates is hot favourite to be kicked out on Wednesday in the last eviction before the finale.

That eviction will leave four housemates left to do battle for the public vote on Friday.

The show will come to an end after 11 weeks during which 16 contestants have lived in the house.

Ladbrokes spokesman Warren Lush said Eugene was "obviously the most genuine" person left in the house.

"We've seen before how normal, nice people can win these things," he said.

Eugene entered the house a month after the show started after being hidden in a "secret garden" with two other new contestants.
