New animated film The Incredibles has received its official UK premiere in London's Leicester Square.

The Disney/Pixar film features the voices of Hollywood stars Samuel L Jackson and Holly Hunter, both of whom turned out for the West End premiere.

Fellow US actor Christian Slater and TV presenter Jonathan Ross also attended.

The Incredibles, which tells the story of a family of superheroes, is the latest animated film from the makers of Monsters Inc. and Finding Nemo.

The film's length has made it one of Pixar's toughest assignments - at two hours it is its longest animation to date.

It is also the first time that humans have been the focus of the entire movie.

Previous films Finding Nemo and A Bug's Life centred on groups of animated sea creatures and insects.

The Incredibles opens in selected cinemas in London on 19 November and across the rest of the UK on 26 November.
