Tom Cruise has become the first foreign star to be honoured on Japan's version of Hollywood's walk of fame in Tokyo.
The Mission Impossible star left an imprint of his hand in concrete at a ceremony on Wednesday.
"I'm really honoured to be doing this today. I feel I have a very special relationship with Japanese audiences," said Cruise.
While Cruise was feted in Japan, Godzilla is to get his own star on Hollywood's Walk of Fame.
The giant lizard, known in Japan as Gojira, will receive its star on 29 November as Godzilla: Final Wars, the 28th film in the franchise, is released.
Monster
The film marks the 50th anniversary of the giant sea-dwelling monster's celluloid career.
The film will also be the last time Godzilla will be seen stomping through miniature sets before it is retired, according to the president of Toho Pictures, Shogo Tomiyama.

The film will see Godzilla fight 10 monsters through tiny sets of Paris, Sydney and New York.
"This movie will surprise and delight everyone, from longtime fans to first-time viewers," Tomiyama said.
Actor Cruise, 42, was in Japan to promote his latest film Collateral, in which he makes a rare outing as a baddie.
"I'm really honoured to be doing this today," said Cruise.
"I feel I have a very special relationship with Japanese audiences," said
Cruise.
Cruise recently starred in The Last Samurai, a movie set in 19th Century Japan, although it was largely filmed in New Zealand.
