Former Spice Girl Victoria Beckham has visited poor children in Peru to see how money raised by the Sport Relief charity is being spent.

The singer spent time with youngsters in a community on the outskirts of the country's capital, Lima.

Film of the three-day trip will be shown in a BBC One documentary to be aired next month.

Trips to India and Zambia by TV presenters Patrick Keilty and Nick Knowles will also feature.

"She went to Peru to make a documentary to make the public aware of where the money is being spent," a Sport Relief spokeswoman said.

The Sunday Mirror newspaper said she spent 12 hours of each of the three days with the families, learning how their children have to scavenge through litter, and helping them wash their clothes.
