Kate Beckinsale married in a low-key ceremony

British actress Kate Beckinsale has married her film director boyfriend Len Wiseman in Beverly Hills, California.

The Van Helsing star tied the knot in a small ceremony at the luxurious Bel-Air Hotel at the weekend.

Publicist Troy Nankin said it was an "intimate" ceremony with Beckinsale's five-year-old daughter, Lily, acting as bridesmaid.

Beckinsale, 30, met Wiseman on the set of vampire movie Underworld, in which she starred and he directed.

She was still with her previous partner, actor Michael Sheen, when they met.

Honeymoon

The couple recited wedding vows on Sunday with the bride wearing a gown by celebrity favourite designer Vera Wang.

It was the first marriage for Wiseman, 29, and for Beckinsale, who are now honeymooning at an undisclosed location.

Beckinsale, daughter of Porridge actor Richard Beckinsale, has also appeared in Hollywood film Pearl Harbour, British movie Shooting Fish and plays a vampire-slayer in the new blockbuster Van Helsing, which has topped the box office chart in the UK and Ireland.
