McFaddens' marriage 'in trouble'
Kerry and Brian McFadden

The marriage of I'm A Celebrity star Kerry McFadden and former Westlife singer Brian is said to be in trouble.

Publicist Max Clifford, who represents the pair, said they had been unable to resolve problems due to their careers.

Brian, who reached number one with his debut single Real to Me earlier this month, quit Westlife in March to pursue a solo career.

The couple, who married in 2001, have two daughters and divide their time between London and Dublin.

Clifford said the couple had not been able to discuss their marriage problems due to conflicting schedules and the massive amount of time spent apart in the past year.

He said: "They have been victims of their own success.

"Kerry's career took off after she won I'm a Celebrity, which has led to all kinds of job offers.

"And since Brian went solo and had a number one hit with his first single he has been on promotional tours and has not been at home."

"It's very sad, but you can't conduct a relationship over a mobile phone," he added.

Brian McFadden returned from a promotional tour in Scandinavia on Sunday to spend time with their children, Molly, three, and 18-month-old Lily Sue.

Clifford said Kerry McFadden had been looking for a family base in Warrington, Cheshire, where her mother lives, for several months.

He added that everyone close to the couple hoped they would be able to work through their differences.
