Actor Anthony Daniels has spoken of his sadness at ending his time playing C3PO after filming final scenes for the sixth movie, Revenge of the Sith.
"Oh yes, it was with moisture. This was very much a fond farewell," he said.
He admits director George Lucas' fascination with special effects had overtaken storytelling in later films.
"For the final shot I walked along a blue corridor with a blue background behind me talking to someone who wasn't there." he said.
Shatner wins Emmy for guest turn
Star Trek actor William Shatner was among the winners at the creative arts Emmy Awards, recognising technical and other achievements in TV.
Shatner and Sharon Stone both received awards for their guest appearances in the legal drama The Practice.
Laura Linney won a guest actor in a comedy award for Frasier, while Turturro's turn in Monk was also honoured in Los Angeles.
The main Emmy Awards will be handed out on 19 September.
US actor OL Duke killed in crash
American actor OL Duke, who appeared alongside Denzel Washington in films such as Out of Time and Malcolm X, has died in a car crash. He was 51.
Duke was returning home after performing in an off-Broadway play in New York when the accident occurred.
He made his acting breakthrough when he replaced Denzel Washington in the stage production of A Soldier's Play.
His TV credits included parts in NYPD Blue, Law & Order and Homicide: Life on The Street during the 1990s.
P Diddy contests child pay demand
Rapper P Diddy is challenging a court decision ordering him to increase child support payments to the mother of his first child.
He was ordered to increase payments to Misa Hylton-Brim, the mother of their son Justin, 10, from $5,000 (£2,800) to
$35,000 (£19,600) per month.
P Diddy, real name Sean Combs, said he is appealing against the Westchester County magistrates court ruling.
"It's ridiculous to think any of my kids would want for anything," he said.
