Queer Eye sets gaze on US women
Queer Eye for the Straight Guy team
The Queer Eye team has transformed many men
Hit US lifestyle show Queer Eye for the Straight Guy is setting its sights on giving straight women makeovers in a new version of the programme.

The original format featured a group of gay men advising heterosexual men on fashion, grooming and interior design.

The new show will see the male team advise women on similar style issues.

Queer Eye for the Straight Girl is due to begin next year in the US. The original programme airs on pay-TV channel Living in the UK.

A spokeswoman for programme-makers Bravo said the new version was still being worked on and it was not known how many gay men would be in the team.

Queer Eye for the Straight Guy has been a ratings hit in the US and has been variously described as "outrageously funny", "vaguely charming" and "depraved".

The Queer Eye team, also known as "the fab five", have become stars in their own right, starring in advertising campaigns and signing book deals.
