Actor Stewart has blood vessel op
Star Trek and X-Men actor Patrick Stewart has had an angioplasty to widen an artery and improve blood flow.

The actor had the procedure - where a small balloon is inflated inside a narrowed blood vessel - to prevent future problems, his publicist said.

A blood flow problem was detected at an annual medical check-up, he said.

Stewart, 64, is resting before returning to work next week - but was forced to miss a science fiction convention in Canada on Saturday.

Director Lee wins cybersquat case

Movie director Spike Lee has won a legal battle against a "cybersquatter" who used spikelee.com to redirect surfers to a pornographic website.

The domain name was registered "in bad faith" by Philippines-based Mercedita Kyamko in 1999, a World Intellectual Property Organisation arbiter ruled.

Lee directed 25th Hour, Do The Right Thing, Summer of Sam and Malcolm X.

His new film, She Hate Me, is at the Venice Film Festival on 5 September - but has flopped in the US.

Reality TV shows 'for Crue stars'

Tommy Lee and Vince Neil, members of heavy rock band Motley Crue, are to star in two separate reality TV shows, according to US magazine Billboard.

The pair will be hoping to emulate the success of another colourful rocker, Ozzy Osbourne, who had a cult TV hit.

Billboard reported drummer Lee signed a deal with the NBC network for a series about his enrolment at college.

And it said singer Neil will appear in MTV's The Remaking of Vince Neil, following his comeback attempt.

Scarlett to star in sci-fi film

Actress Scarlett Johansson is to star in Michael Bay's sci-fi thriller The Island, opposite Ewan McGregor.

The film is about a "harvested being" who suddenly becomes self-aware and tries to escape the utopian facility where he and others are being kept.

The Lost in Translation star will play McGregor's confidante in the thriller, which begins shooting in October.

She also has signed on to star opposite Tom Cruise in Mission: Impossible 3, to start shooting in June.

Sandra Bullock drops out of Prime

Sandra Bullock has dropped out of movie Prime over script differences.

Bullock was to have starred in Prime as a thirty-something woman who falls for her therapist's twenty-something son.

According to the actress' spokesman, Bullock, who has script approval, was not satisfied with the latest draft.

However she may return to the project if a new script can be agreed upon.

Filming on the comedy is due to begin in early September.
