Anger at Spice 'breast-feeding' photo

Beckham and Victoria Adams: "Gross invasion of privacy"

Publicists for Spice Girl Victoria Adams have condemned as a "gross invasion of privacy" publication of a photograph purporting to show her breast-feeding her son.

The picture, one of three, was printed in a German newspaper and on the Website of a Berlin-based paper.

They show a rear-view of Adams, better known as Posh Spice, holding her baby, Brooklyn, at chest height.

Poolside pics

They were taken as she and her fiancé, footballer David Beckham, relaxed by a pool on holiday with their three-month-old son.

A spokeswoman for Beckham and Adams said she doubted the picture actually showed Brooklyn being breastfed, because he is normally bottle-fed.

But she said: "The pictures are a gross invasion of privacy."

The spokeswoman added no British newspapers had shown an interest in the photos.

"Hats off to the British press for respecting their privacy," she said.

In a second poolside picture the singer is seen from behind with her fiancé looking on in the background.

In the third she is photographed holding their son.

'I don't understand football' - Posh

The pictures were published five days after Beckham's team - Manchester United - beat Germany's Bayern Munich 2-1 in Barcelona to win the European Cup.

But it seems his bride-to-be has no interest in the game.

In an interview with Top of the Pops magazine she said: "I don't really understand the rules and I'm not really that interested in ever learning them. It's too cold for me."

In the same article, fellow Spice Girl Mel B - Scary Spice - said that former band member Geri Halliwell owes her current position as UN ambassador to the whole group.

"Without her being in the group and being with us then she probably wouldn't have got that award," she told the magazine.

"So that goes to all of us and everybody who's helped us."

Adams added: "We always say at the end of the day without each other we wouldn't be here and that's the same with Geri. Without all of us she wouldn't be doing what she's doing."
