Actor Alec Baldwin and his former wife Kim Basinger have resolved a custody case involving their eight-year-old
daughter, Baldwin's lawyer has said.
Basinger won an Oscar for LA Confidential
Oscar-nominated Baldwin had sought an equal share of parenting of daughter Ireland with Basinger. He lives in New York, while she is based in California.
The couple were married in 1993, and Basinger filed for divorce in 2001.
Baldwin's lawyer, Dennis Wasser, confirmed the case had been "resolved" but did not give any details.
Both parties had appeared in court last week, but the judge barred media coverage.
Basinger's divorce petition said she sought physical custody of Ireland, but the two would share joint legal custody and Baldwin would have visiting rights.
This week Baldwin won his first Academy Award nomination in the best supporting actor category for The Cooler, in which he plays a ruthless Las Vegas Casino owner.
Basinger won the best supporting actress Oscar in 1998 for her performance as high-class hooker Lynn Bracken in 1950s crime drama LA Confidential.
