Jagger model gives birth

Brazilian model Luciana Morad, who claims she had an affair with Rolling Stone Mick Jagger, gave birth to a baby boy in New York on Monday.

If the 55-year-old millionaire rock star is the father, the baby will be his seventh child.

Morad insists the baby was conceived during a nine-month affair, which prompted Jagger's wife, Jerry Hall, to start divorce proceedings.

The singer is staying silent about the new arrival but is understood to be asking for a DNA test to prove that he is the father.


George Clooney makes his ER exit

ER heart-throb George Clooney will leave the ward for the last time on Wednesday as UK fans see Dr Doug Ross quit the medical drama forever.

Clooney's character Dr Ross has been a major attraction at Chicago County Hospital for more than five years and his departure pulled in about 27 million viewers when screened in the US.

Clooney's final show is the second of a two-part cliff-hanger which sees Dr Ross leave in disgrace after helping to assist the death of a terminally-ill boy .

The episode can be seen on Channel 4 at 2100 on 19 May.


Kidman to make European gothic thriller

Nicole Kidman has confirmed she will head back to Europe next year to star in the Gothic thriller The Others.

The film, produced by her husband Tom Cruise, will be the first English language project for Spanish director Alejandro Armenabar.

In the film, to be shot in Spain, she will play a mother who becomes caught up in supernatural occurrences.

Kidman is currently working with Cruise on the film Mission Impossible 2.


US Navy seals deal with director Lee

Film director Spike Lee is making a series of recruitment ads for the US Navy, with the first one running before screenings of the new Star Wars.

"Spike can give us a different edge," says a US Navy official, adding that it is hoped the ads "will attract a younger audience".

Lee, director of Malcolm X and Do The Right Thing, is being paid $2.5m (£1.6m) to make six ads. One is for cinema release, beginning 4 June, while the others will be on TV.


Edward Norton makes debut as director

Oscar-nominated actor Edward Norton is making his directing debut in the screwball comedy Keeping The Faith.

Norton, nominated for best actor for his role in American History X, will also star in the film, alongside Jenna Elfman and Ben Stiller.

The film is about a priest and rabbi who both fall for a former schoolgirl friend.


Griffith and Swayze to star in comedy

Melanie Griffith is to star alongside Patrick Swayze in a black comedy called Loving Lulu.

The film, which also stars Penelope Ann Miller, follows Griffith as a romantic schizophrenic who tracks down a former boyfriend who is tired of his wife.

Once reunited, they embark on a poignant cross-country journey to meet their estranged love-child.

The film is produced by Griffith and her husband Antonio Banderas.
