Star Wars, the single

Ewan McGregor plays a young Obi-Wan Kenobe in the film
The theme to the original Star Wars movie became a classic, and now fans can look forward to a new tune to hum as film producers announce a single and promotional video to go with the new film.

Star Wars
Composer John Williams has condensed his symphonic score for The Phantom Menace into a specially created single-length piece of music, The Duel of the Fates.

As well as the first Star Wars score, Williams also composed the Theme From Superman, for the film starring Christopher Reeve.

The 67-year-old composer conducted the London Symphony Orchestra at Abbey Road Studios to create the latest score.

Film producers LucasFilm say the four-minute long track embodies the "conflict between the light and the dark" at the heart of the film.

The video is currently being edited at the producer George Lucas's Skywalker Ranch facilities.

The music video is expected to make its television debut early next month, although no release date for the single has been announced.
