Comedy stars vie for public vote
Ant and Dec
Ant and Dec are nominated for Saturday Night Takeaway
Comedy stars including Ant and Dec and spoof rapper Ali G compete for the public vote at this year's British Comedy Awards.

The nominations for the People's Choice Award for the event, held on 10 December, were unveiled on Friday.

The public are asked to vote for their favourite comedian from the list of 10.

The list includes Comic Relief Does Fame Academy, Ali G In Da USA and Bo Selecta, which stars Avid Merrion as a celebrity obsessive.

More shows in the list includes Only Fools and Horses, Cold Feet and Dead Ringers.

The awards will be hosted by TV host Jonathan Ross.

Last year Peter Kay's Bolton nightclub comedy Phoenix Nights won the public award at last year's event.

This year BBC Two's comedy I'm Alan Partridge has been nominated for three awards including best TV comedy and actor.

The show, which stars Steve Coogan, will compete with Coupling and Bo Selecta.

Presenting duo Ant and Dec will battle it out with chat show hosts Jonathan Ross and Graham Norton for Personality of the Year.
