Wogan TV show editor quits
Terry Wogan
The show is Terry Wogan's first programme for a decade
The editor of Five's Terry & Gaby show, presented by Terry Wogan and Gaby Roslin, has left the show after poor ratings.

Trevor Hyett, who was series editor when it launched six weeks ago, has left the morning programme to work on other shows, a Five spokeswoman said.

"Trevor came in to launch the show, and his departure at this time is not unexpected," she said, denying he had left because of poor ratings.

His departure comes as the Five show struggles to attract viewers.

On Wednesday, the programme, which has been commissioned for 200 editions, attracted only 100,000 viewers.

The show's average figures of 173,000 viewers, recorded in its first three-and-a-half weeks, compared badly with other programmes in its time slot, such as This Morning on ITV1.

Evans show

The show is produced by UMTV, the production company run by Chris Evans.

Five said it would not be cancelling the show and would keep to the 200-show contract.

James Winter, the series producer, will take over running the show.

Chris Evans returned to broadcasting as a producer last year after taking time off following the end of his TFI Friday series on Channel 4.

But he as has already seen two of his productions cancelled.

Live with..., which had been presented by Chris Moyles and then Christian O'Connell, was axed by Five last month.

And Channel 4 also brought an end to Evans' Girls and Boys last month, hosted by Vernon Kay, because of disappointing ratings.
