Davies plans new Trollope TV drama
Andrew Davies
Davies scored a hit with The Way We Live Now
Screenwriter Andrew Davies' latest adaptation of an Anthony Trollope novel, He Knew He Was Right, is about to begin filming for BBC One.

It stars former EastEnders' actress Patsy Palmer as well as Geoffrey Palmer and James Bolam.

The period drama follows what happens when a 19th Century supposedly ideal marriage goes horribly wrong.

"This is an unusual Trollope - an edgy portrait of a marriage in trouble which feels startingly modern," Davies said.

"It's Trollope's take on the Othello story. The behaviour of the couple is the sort we see today in divorce courts and read about in tabloid newspapers."

It also features a string of up-and-coming stars including Oliver Dimsdale, Laura Fraser, Christina Cole and Stephen Campbell-Moore.
