Hollywood actor and director Kevin Costner, the star of films such as JFK, is to marry his long-term girlfriend Christine Baumgartner.
The pair have been going out for four years
Costner made the announcement on Thursday, but did not set a wedding date.
It is Costner's second marriage, and the first for his 29-year-old partner.
Costner, 48, was previously married to Cindy Silva, with whom he had three children.
The actor-director is currently promoting his latest film, Open Range, which is a western drama about a former gunslinger protecting his ranch.
Costner became one of Hollywood's biggest stars in 1991 when the western epic Dances With Wolves, which he directed and starred in, won seven of the 12 Oscars it was nominated for, including best picture and best director.
Baumgartner is a businesswoman who is soon to launch a couture company featuring her own handbag designs.
She accompanied Costner to Cuba in 2001 when the actor met the country's leader Fidel Castro ahead of filming the Cuban missile crisis drama 13 Days.
In January 1997 a blood test showed Costner was the father
of a boy, Liam, born in November 1996, from a brief relationship with Bridget Rooney, a television reporter.
Costner's movie career has included other hit films such as Field of Dreams and Bull Durham, but has included recent flops such as Dragonfly and 3000 Miles to Graceland.
