Actress Sandra Bullock has won a temporary restraining order against a man she says has stalked her.
Los Angeles Superior Court commissioner Scott Gordon issued an order requiring Thomas James Weldon, 34, of Los Angeles, to stay 200 yards away from the actress.
The 38-year-old actress claims he has sent her e-mails and faxes and left messages with her, and her family, "indicating he wants to have a relationship with her," according to a 57-page complaint.
She also says Weldon has paranoid schizophrenia, refuses to take medication, and has followed her from California to Texas to South Carolina.
A hearing to decide on a permanent order will be held on 6 June.
Bullock became a major star after appearing in 1994 thriller Speed, and has remained one of Hollywood's biggest stars.
Earlier this year she had a box office hit with romantic comedy Two Weeks Notice, which also starred Hugh Grant.
She will next be seen in another romantic comedy, Exactly 3:30.
