'No baby' for Oasis couple

Liam Gallagher and Patsy Kensit: Tabloid favourites

Oasis singer Liam Gallagher has denied tabloid reports his wife Patsy Kensit is expecting their first baby.

The Mirror newspaper reported the 30-year-old actress is expecting a child in November.

But at their home in Primrose Hill, north London, the 26-year-old singer insisted he was not about to become a father.

He told a reporter through his intercom: "It's absolute nonsense, mate. I don't know where it comes from."

Ms Kensit already has a six-year-old son, James, from her earlier marriage to Simple Minds singer Jim Kerr.

The couple married in April 1997, and their stormy relationship has made them favourites of the British tabloids. She is said to have briefly moved out of their house last year after a well-publicised row.

While Liam is working with songwriter brother Noel and colleagues Paul 'Guigsy' McGuigan, Paul 'Bonehead' Arthurs and Alan White on a new Oasis album, Kensit has been filming the life story of football legend George Best, in which she plays his wife Angie.
