Oasis had two songs in the top five
Oasis ballad Wonderwall has been named the best song of the decade in a poll.
The song, featured on the band's 1995 album (What's The Story?) Morning Glory, won top place above songs from Blur, REM, The Verve and Radiohead.
The poll was commissioned by UK radio station Virgin to celebrate its tenth anniversary.
The second most popular song was The Verve's Bittersweet Symphony.
Oasis scored three songs in the top 20 list. Don't Look Back in Anger, another of the singles from (What's The Story?) Morning Glory, came in at fourth place after REM's Everybody Hurts.
And their Christmas 1994 single, Whatever, came in at number 14.

US funk-rock act The Red Hot Chili Peppers also had three songs in the top 20. By the Way, the first single from their eponymous album from last year, took seventh place.
Californication was number 13 on the list and Give it Away at number 17.
The Red Hot Chili Peppers were just as popular as Oasis
The list was dominated by songs from 'Britpop' groups that became popular during the mid 90s, such as Blur, Radiohead, the Stereophonics and Pulp.
"There were some great songs to choose from and its no surprise that Oasis ended up with two songs in the top four," said Virgin DJ Pete Mitchell.
"They are the definitive British artist of the last 10 years and despite
their failings they are still held close to people's hearts."
He also said the top five showed that British pop fans were lovers of downbeat, melancholic pop.
"It seems to be a reflection of the nation's personality - either that or
the fact it rains a lot," he said.
