Presenter Henry Kelly's future at Classic FM is unclear after he was suddenly taken off air last week.
The DJ has been replaced permanently as host of the breakfast show on the station, although Classic FM refuse to confirm whether or not he has been sacked.
A spokeswoman for the station refused to explain his departure.
Kelly has been with the station since its launch 11 years ago, and has hosted the breakfast show for the last four years.
His daily programme is enormously popular, pulling in an audience of about 3.3 million listeners.
The spokeswoman said the negotiations between the presenter and the station were confidential.
She said: "We are in negotiations over the future of Henry Kelly.
"We cannot comment on the nature of the discussions."
Veteran DJ Simon Bates has been confirmed as the new breakfast presenter for the station.
