DJ Norman Cook confirmed on Tuesday that he was back together with wife Zoe Ball after being pictured on Brighton beach on the weekend.

Cook, who DJs under the name Fatboy Slim, said the pair were back together and trying to make their marriage work.

But he asked reporters to allow them privacy, saying "our private life is our private life. We just want to be left alone to get on with our lives now".

The pair split before late last year, and Ball was later linked with DJ Dan Peppe.

Tabloid newspapers ran pictures of the pair kissing on Brighton promenade on the weekend. The pair were also seen to be wearing their wedding rings.

Ball had removed hers during the time of her affair with Peppe.

The pair were pictured with their two-year-old son Woody while they had a beachfront lunch with friends, including Blur singer Damon Albarn and radio DJ Sara Cox.

"Friendship"

The Sun newspaper reported the couples friends saying Cook, 39, and Ball, 32, were "determined" to make their marriage work.

Reports that the pair - who married in 1999 - were back together first surfaced in February.

Then, Cook told reporters that the couple were "seeing each other again".

Ball had moved out of the couple's beachside home in Hove, near Brighton, and was living in a flat in north London while she continued presenting a show on London's Xfm radio station.

Ball revealed on her radio show she had "developed a friendship" with Peppe, but had never ruled out a marriage reconciliation.
