Zellweger 'for Bridget sequel'
Renee Zellweger has reportedly agreed to put on weight again to reprise her role as Bridget Jones.

Zellweger, who starred as the eponymous heroine in the 2001 film, will put on at least 20lbs in order to reprise the role, reports said.

Filming is expected to start in July. Hugh Grant and Colin Firth are also expected to reprise their roles in the film.

The sequel will be called The Edge of Reason.



Beach Boy to perform 'lost' album Beach Boys star Brian Wilson is to perform his lost masterpiece album Smile in its entirety for the first time in series of UK shows.

Wilson is to play the 35-year-old album at London's Royal Festival Hall during a tour in February 2004.

Smile was to be the follow-up to the 1966 album Pet Sounds.

Following a spate of studio fires, the tapes are thought to have been sealed in a vault, and only fragments of the recordings had been made available.


Court freezes Matrix director's assets

One of the brothers behind The Matrix: Reloaded has had his business assets frozen by a judge after his estranged wife accused him of keeping financial secrets.

Larry Wachowski and his wife of 10 years Thea Bloom are involved in a custody battle.

Court papers filed show Ms Bloom believes "Larry is hiding information from me regarding our financial affairs".

Judge Rolf Treu issued an order banning the brothers' production company, Anarchos, from making any payments to Larry Wachowski "pending further order of the Court".


McCartney honoured by Russian conservatory

Sir Paul McCartney has been awarded an honorary degree by St Petersburg's conservatory in Russia.

The former Beatle thanked his hosts and hundreds of well-wishers who came to watch the ceremony - in Russian.

McCartney switched back to English to say: "It's really exciting to be in the same school that such great composers as Tchaikovsky came to."

The Liverpool-born star is playing a concert in Moscow's Red Square on Saturday on his Back To The World tour.


Mariah adds UK to world tour

Mariah Carey has added the UK to her world tour, and for the first time she will perform outside London.

The star, who is staging a comeback following the flop of her Glitter movie and album, will perform at the Birmingham NEC on 28 October and then at London's Wembley Arena on 30 October.

The Charmbracelet tour, her first in three years, will see Carey travel to Asia, America and Europe.

Tickets for the UK dates will go on sale on 30 May.
