Hello - we're Spice babes

Posh (far right) has followed Scary (far left) into motherhood

The latest additions to the Spice Girls' families have come face to face.

Scary Spice Mel G and her baby daughter visited Posh Spice Victoria Adams at the private London hospital where she has had a son.

Victoria, 23, went into the Portland Hospital in London on Thursday afternoon and later gave birth to 7lb Brooklyn Joseph.

Her fiancé, Manchester United and England footballer David Beckham, was at her side.

A spokeswoman for the Spice Girls confirmed that among the visitors were Mel G, her husband Jimmy Gulzar, and their daughter.

The two other band members, Baby Spice Emma Bunton and Sporty Spice Mel C, also called in at the hospital.

Proud grandparents

Later on Friday evening Tony and Jackie Adams visited the hospital to visit their new grandson and said: "He's beautiful, he's a lovely little boy."

Mr Adams said: "We're delighted, obviously."

The BBC's Andrew Bomford: "Brooklyn Joseph Beckham weighed 7lbs"
Mrs Adams said of Victoria: "She is fine, the baby is lovely. She is still on the champagne."

The name was apparently chosen because the baby boy was conceived in Manhattan, New York, but the couple thought that Manhattan was too much of a mouthful and opted for nearby Brooklyn instead. Joseph is the footballer's middle name.

After the birth, he said: "It's brilliant. It's something I've always wanted, it's something I've always wanted to do."

David Beckham said: "Victoria is very well. She is sat up drinking champagne and has spoken to the other girls."

The birth came 24 hours after David Beckham played a key part in United's European Cup quarter-final first leg victory over Inter Milan at Old Trafford.

Victoria Adams' fellow Spice Girl, Melanie Brown, gave birth to a daughter two weeks ago.
